Russell Smith was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. His family emigrated to The Bronx, NY in 1987 and lived there for two years. They then moved to Orangeville, Ontario.

He attended the Orangeville District Secondary School (ODSS), graduated and then carried onto Humber College where he studied Multimedia Design and Production for two years earning himself an honors diploma.

Russell graduated this program and shortly after landed a job as Webmaster within the IT Services department at OCAD University (OCADU). He worked solely in this capacity for 3.5 years until the role switched hands to the Marketing & Communications department. At year four the role morphed into what is now titled Web Analyst and that is where he stands today.

Russell also runs a small design shop named ourrug unltd. that he’d like to nurture and grow over the years ahead. The shop caters to web/graphic design and development, SEO/SEM, website content management/maintenance and web analytics consultation and implementation.

Russell and his wife Leslie just had a little baby girl Stella Ma Smith on August 16 at 00:41 hrs!!

Currently, Russell is working toward a bachelor of commerce undergraduate degree at Athabasca University and has just completed the four courses that make up the UBC Award of Achievement in Web Analytics Program.

Russell is extremely passionate about Web Analytics and the “web” in general and is looking forward to where this new role as Web Analyst and new found educational knowledge take him.
